Terms of Service

The agreement between you and WillaChat, written to be read.

Draft — under legal review. Questions: willa@willachat.com.

Last updated: July 30, 2026

Acceptance

By creating an account or using WillaChat ("Willa," "the Service") at willachat.com or app.willachat.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Eligibility

Account holders must be adults — a parent or legal guardian. Children never create their own accounts: they use Willa only through profiles their parent creates and manages, and creating a child profile requires parental consent verified by a one-time code emailed to the parent.

Your API key

Willa uses a bring-your-own-key model. You provide your own API key from an AI provider (such as OpenAI or Anthropic), and you are responsible for that key, for complying with your provider's terms, and for any charges your provider bills for usage. Willa never resells model access — your key connects your family directly to your chosen provider.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or probe the safety pipeline;
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that could harm children;
  • Attempt to access another family's account or data;
  • Introduce malicious code or interfere with the Service's operation.

Parental responsibility

Willa is a safety tool that assists your supervision — it is not a substitute for it. Every message passes through a safety pipeline and every conversation is visible to you, but no automated system catches everything. You remain responsible for supervising your child's use of the Service, reviewing the dashboard, and responding to alerts.

Service changes

We may change, add, or remove features of the Service over time. Where a change meaningfully affects how you use Willa, we will make reasonable efforts to tell you in advance.

Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. In plain terms: we work hard to make Willa reliable and safe, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its safety filtering will catch every harmful message. AI providers can also change their models' behavior in ways we do not control.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Willa and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including AI-generated content or charges billed by your AI provider. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms — especially the acceptable-use rules above. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; see our Privacy Policy for how data deletion works.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
